This exhibition is about reinterpretation of the works of
Anatolia’s ten thousand years old civilizations which are visualized by art and
design in terms of art and design. Upon the transformation of the visual communication
data which is created by Anatolian civilizations into art and design, the aim
of this paper is presenting them within international environment and discussing
and interpreting their impacts on universal art and design. At the same time,
Hacettepe University is aimed to take part and be introduced in the
international platform and achieve a cross-cultural interaction. The scope of
this paper is the evaluation of contemporary works created with reference to
Anatolia’s cultural motifs, ancient periods and urban civilization periods in
terms of visual forms of communication. The works in this exhibition by which
Anatolian history and culture is reflected picture the worldview of the young generation
artists and reinterpret the diversity of Anatolian geography. In this context,
“Old - New Anatolia” exhibition which is organized in order to ensure the
development of transnational communication and ensure the cultural links. The
works developed in the context of the exhibition concept are discussed by being
interpreted in terms of design evaluation stages and design principles. In the
exhibition process, the artists who have works in the exhibition will be
contacted. Each work is an object that represents an individual who is a part
of a culture. For this reason, in order to provide the works with an objective
evolution process, firstly it is necessary to know which meaning has the artist
assigned to the work. Now, it is artist’s turn to have a say.
